schoolgirl meets corporate chic
Kinda Dead Poets Societyesque except with a green blazer instead of blue? How fun is this blazer? Even more fun that it was a gift from Talbots (thank you!). It all started with an invite I got last month to the Talbots Fall 2010 preview. Unfortunately I was on vacation then so I was unable to attend. To be honest, I’m not sure I’ve ever bought anything at Talbots; it’s always had that mom-look to me, but when I got the preview event email, I headed over to their site and browsed around… and was pleasantly surprised by the bright pops of color, sleek business casual work cuts, fun jackets and even some less than traditional takes on suits. And, the prices aren’t bad (and this is me talking, people).
Anyways, a few weeks after the event, I got a lovely email telling me Talbots wanted to gift me something from their spring collection (how cool?) and this green blazer is what I chose. I can’t wait to pair it with some crisp white pants and a ruffled top come May. For now, I went the schoolgirl meets corporate chic route. I have to say even that although I love the jacket, I was expecting it to be a bit brighter green, like a St. Patty’s Day kelly green. I’ll just have to brighten it with sparkly jewelry and colorful scarves!
